Protecting More Than Just Your Property

Comments

When visitors leave comments on our website, we collect the data shown in the comments form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.

An anonymised string (also known as a hash) created from your email address may be shared with the Gravatar service to check if you use it. You can view the Gravatar service’s privacy policy here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture will be visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the A&M UK Security Ltd website, we recommend avoiding images that include embedded location data (EXIF GPS), as visitors to the site could download and extract this data.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies for convenience. This means you won’t need to re-enter your details when leaving another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, a temporary cookie will be set to check whether your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

Upon logging in, we set up several cookies to save your login information and screen display preferences. Login cookies last for two days; screen options cookies last for a year. Selecting “Remember Me” will keep you logged in for two weeks. Logging out will remove these cookies.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply records the ID of the post you edited. It expires after one day.

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles or pages on our site may include embedded content (such as videos, images, or articles). Embedded content from other websites behaves just as if you had visited that external site directly.

These third-party sites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content — especially if you have an account with them and are logged in.

Who We Share Your Data With

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email for added security verification.

How Long We Retain Your Data

If you leave a comment, it and its metadata are retained indefinitely to allow us to automatically approve any follow-up comments instead of holding them in moderation.

For users who register on our website (if applicable), we store the personal information provided in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time — except for their username. Website administrators can also view and update that information.

Your Rights Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you’ve provided. You can also request that we erase your personal data. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where Your Data Is Sent

Visitor comments may be screened through an automated spam detection service to protect the integrity of our website.
